Georgia is the warm, friendly face of Villa Olous. She has lived her whole life in Elounda and everyone knows her. I have no idea how big the local school is, but almost everyone you meet says they went to school with her. I’ll buy you a drink if you can find anyone who lives in Elounda and doesn’t know Georgia!
Georgia and her husband Stavros live locally near to Spinalonga. This is where her parents are from and their parents before them. Fokas, Georgia and Stavros’ son, may well also be found working at the Villa. This is truly a family affair. They are also part of our family and Georgia is the godmother to my first child to be born in March 2025.
Georgia went to university for agriculture and for many years was the head gardener at the local Five Star Hotels Elounda Mare, Elounda Porto and Peninsula Elounda. She was also greenskeeper at Porto Elounda Golf Course for 15 years. If you want to know anything about the gardens or local horticulture, please do ask Georgia.
In addition to gardening, Georgia enjoys walking in the many gorges of Crete, decorating her home and meeting and talking to people.
In her work, it is the local knowledge and passion that truly sets Georgia apart from staff at other villas. The enthusiasm is genuine and that is transferred to all our guests. She is completely dedicated to making sure that the guests have an absolutely magical holiday and return home with a love for Crete and for Villa Olous.
If you want to know where to get the best fish, or how to charter a yacht, or a hidden taverna with dancing that only locals go to – just ask Georgia.
